12V DC 5A Metal Cased Power Supply with 9 individually PTC Fused Outputs
The MULTI-5A has 9 total outputs. Outputs: 1 to 4 the fuses are rated to 1.6A Outputs: 5 to 9 the fuses are rated to 1.1A.
Total power output cannot exceed 5A.
When traditional fuses are being used for overcurrent protection, they can only protect once then must be replaced.
PTC resettable fuses combine overcurrent protection and automatic reset.
The PTC fuse is connected in series with the DC output circuit and under normal circumstances it provides a low resistance state to ensure the normal working of the circuit.
If a short circuit or unusually high current draw occurs, the PTC fuse activates, reducing the voltage output to a trickle, thus preventing damage and protecting the equipment.
The PTC fuse will automatically reset once the fault in the circuit is removed thus returning to its low resistance state, which avoids maintenance or replacement.
